Student Project „Corporate Conflict Mars“ Wins Gamesload Newcomer Award 2009

The student development team Ice Motion from Games Academy™ has been awarded with the first prize in the category Gamesload Newcomer Award 2009 within the German Game Developer Award 2009. The Gamesload Newcomer Award is renowned as one of the most important advancement awards within the games industry. Team Ice Motion, consisting of ten Games Academy™ graduates, convinced the jury with their tactic shooter that is characterized by intuitive gameplay and game depth.
Thomas Pottkämpfer, Managing Director of Related Designs, presented the award to the jubilant winner team – the award includes prize money of 5.000 Euro. Corporate Conflict Mars has been nominated by the jury out of a pool of 20 game projects. The game has been developed during the course of studies within an interdisciplinary project work, continuing the success story of preceding student projects. For the fifth successive time – starting in 2006 – students from Games Academy™ win a Newcomer Award.
